JEDDAH: Director General of the King Abdullah Project on the Development of Judiciary Majed Al-Adwan said the Ministry of Justice would continue to create jobs for women in courts. If these jobs were approved next year, then hiring procedures would start through the Ministry of Civil Service. The ministry would request an institution, possibly Princess Noura University, to supervise job interviews, tests and other hiring procedures.
Al-Adwan said the draft regulation on reconciliation centers was finished and submitted to relevant authorities. These centers can provide an alternative to trials in some cases. Currently these offices receive cases through judges. The draft regulation is aimed at having these offices receive the cases first and refer them to court if reconciliation failed.
He said reconciliation centers at courts contributed to settling many cases. In Bisha Court, for instance, 90 percent of the cases referred to the reconciliation office were settled. In Jeddah, there are seven centers.
