SABB Advance captained by Art Capulong recorded its fourth Team of the Week honor to leapfrog from fourth to second position after the 14th week in the Interbank Tenpin Bowlers of Riyadh (ITBR) league at the InterContinental Hotel Bowling Center here.
SABB Advance demolished handicap-rich Alinma Bank Tefa’al 440-0. SABB best five bowlers were at their best: Sam Alinsod fired 859, AJ Bonifacio rolled 792, Jaffer Al-Kathiri had 731 , Ahmed Al-Qarquosh 730 and Luis Bonguit 619.
Tefa’al never recovered from its first game loss as they continued to produce low output even tough it has eight marks advantage. Top performers were the trio of Romy Burgos, Soc Mejia and captain Bobby Ting with four-game series of 705, 651 and 608. They were assisted by Bandar Al Shammari and Vic Agregado who rolled 569 and 507.
Banque Saudi Fransi team captain Jun Bantug hit the precise manpower maneuvering to crush handicap-rich Alinma Aspire 405-143. Straight bowler Noel Morales enjoyed a dominating performance to shoot the high series of 871 that gave him the Bowler of the Week award. Veteran Adwin Timango booked the third Elite Bowler spot of the season when he tallied 253 pinfalls while Bantug, Yusuf Fernandez and Francis Guron had 737,727 and 719.
Top scorers at Aspire was the trio of Abdulrahman Ahmed, Ranier Torres and Angelo Train with 800, 724 and 695. They were supported by captain Jojo de Silva and Willie Bondoc with 543 and 528 while Jerry Barce had 331.
In other matches, Saudi Hollandi Bank defeated SAIB 150-80 while BSF-CBG edged SABB-SAMA 180-100. League leader PNB Unified team playing bye this week booked a high score of 340 points to keep the top spot in the team standings.
Team captain Greg Antonio top-scored at SHB with 742 series followed by Arnel Bernabe (710), Clem Salazar (668), Gerry Ayonon (662 and Jil Hembra (664).
BSF-CBG gained three marks advantage against SABB-SAMA as their match ended in a 2-2 draw. The trio of Alfred Estrada, Art Bumatay and captain Ken Hechanova kept the momentum of their games to the max to roll 701, 692 and 690. Guilbert Masias tallied 539 in three games while Abet Minosa had 336 in two games. Nicco Gregorio, Ricky Dominguez and Larry Lirazan rolled 173, 141 and 137.
SABB-SAMA got even during the last 2 games but failed to gain extra bonus points to match its opponent. The quartet of Clem Guelas, Bernie Torres, Jun Bolocboloc and Freddie Solomon sweated it out to recover their defeats in the first two games, carding 733, 667, 625 and 616. Remy Generales and David Smart had 333 and 292.
Edwin Nunez and last week’s top performer Mixi Lechuga led PNB Unified with 787 and 776. They were supported by James Frizzle and Sonny Alviso who tallied 563 and 485 while Roland Garcia, Ronald Cruz and Tenz Taeza had 386, 350 and 337.
