SABB Advance captained by Art Capulong won its second straight Team of the Week honors and fifth overall during the 15th session in the Interbank Tenpin Bowlers of Riyadh (ITBR) league at the InterContinental Hotel Bowling Center.
SABB Advance demolished sister-team SABB-SAMA Unified 480-80 to cement its grip on second place.
Straight bowler Luis Bonguit made it a SABB Advance double when he clinched the Bowler of the Week award after shooting the high series of 868. Sam Alinsod carded 811, Ahmed Qarquoush had 754 and Jaffer Al-Kathiri made 662 to support Bonguit. Guest player Gerry Austria and AJ Bonifacio added 382 and 378.
SABB-SAMA managed 80 bonus points during the first game but failed to win the next three games. The trio of Bernie Torres, Jun Bolocboloc and Clem Guelas tallied 769, 682 and 679 four-game series while captain Teody Zulaybar fired 534. David Smart and Freddie Solomon rolled 383 and 348 while Dawood Sereno had 155.
Saudi Investment Bank of Dong Calub defeated Alinma Bank Tefa’al 323-80. The leading scorer in SAIB was straight bowler Ed Robillos who rolled 810 while Edwin Fontiveros and Calub toppled 764 and 732 pinfalls. Agie Dazo and Boy Rogel added 568 and 525 while Siraj Zakaria and Eddison Torres had 172 and 157.
Tefa’al never gained momentum after the first game as it faltered in the next three games. It banked on the single set of five players namely Vic Agregado, (775), Zohair Oqilan (746), captain Bob Ting (709), Soc Mejia 656 and Romie Burgos 647.
Banque Saudi Fransi team captain Jun Bantug hit the precise manpower maneuvering to crush league leader PNB Unified 290-30.
Jerry Villanueva and Yusuf Fernandez took advantage of their handicap to score 828 and 768. They received support from teammates Edwin Timango, Noel Morales and Bantug who rolled 735, 720 and 651.
Leading PNB Unified was James Frizzle at 802. He was assisted by Mixi Lechuga and Sonny Alviso with 737 and 630 series while Edwin Nunez and Tenz Taeza had 501 and 464.
The match between the third and fourth placers, Alinma Bank Aspire and SHB, ended in a draw at 100 points each while BSF-CBG playing bye this week booked 200 points.
Aspire matched up well against former champion SHB, taking advantage of its handicap to take the first and fourth games. Team captain Jojo De Silva scored 671 while Abdulrahman Ahmed, Jerry Barce, Willie Bondoc and Obet Mata contributed 505, 500,471 and 462 while Ranier Torres and Gelo Train had 327 and 278.
Greg Antonio and Rodel Yap led SHB with 695 and 668. Jil Hembra and Clem Salazar fired 519 and 495 while Gerry Ayonon had 291. Val Baraquio and Cholo Nieto had 160 and 158.
For BSF-CBG the trio of Abet Minoza, Guilbert Masias and Alfred Estrada kept the momentum of their games to the max to score 816, 721 and 712. Ricky Dominguez and Art Bumatay rolled 513 and 481 while captain Ken Hechanova had 302.
