The former head of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Qazi Hussain Ahmad’s demise has brought sadness to the Muslims across the world. His death is not only a big loss to Pakistan but also to the global Muslim community. We are deeply grieved on the loss of an honest, brave and true global Muslim leader who was very much visible at difficult times of Ummah. He played an instrumental role in uniting different groups in Pakistan by promoting sectarian harmony in order to counter the conspiracies against Islam and stood tall among other Muslim leaders.
He was a true soldier of Islam, defended Islam day and night. I admire his selfless and tireless struggle of seven decades. The recently-held International Islamic Solidarity Conference under his great patronage as president of Milli Yakjehti Council was just an example of his efforts to combat anti-Islam forces. He always stressed the need of forging unity among Ummah to frustrate the designs of anti-Islam forces targeting Muslim Ummah at large and Muslim leaders in particular.
Although he failed to see Pakistan as a welfare Islamic state but he believed in living as a firm believer despite all odds. We ask Allah’s mercy and forgiveness to his shortcomings and hope his significant struggle will continue. — Saif Ul Islam Farooqui, Riyadh
