SASCO signs deal with Wyndham Hotel Group

Saudi Automotive Services Company (SASCO) yesterday signed a master franchise agreement with the Wyndham Hotel Group at its headquarters in Riyadh.
The agreement was inked by SASCO MD Sultan Alhudaithi and Wyndham Hotel Group's Regional Vice President for Middle East and Africa Bani Haddad.
Alhudaithi said the franchise agreement, as the owner of the largest petrol station network on the Saudi Arabian highways, we believe aligning with Super 8 provides an excellent opportunity to bring something new to the market. Wyndham claims to be the world's largest hotel company with over 7,150 hotels and part of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation. Twenty Super 8 brand hotels are planned in Saudi Arabia over the next five years.
Haddad told Arab News that the agreement complements what Saudi Commission for Tourism & Antiquities (HCTA) is doing — creating more jobs for Saudis and elevating the current standard of the hotels by bringing the international know-how to the Saudi market.
"We are excited because we know that Saudi Arabia needs such products," he said, adding that the Kingdom has fantastic tourism spots and a large number of domestic tourists. As many as 3.8 million people from the world over travel to Saudi Arabia by land and don't find decent place to take rest.
He pointed out that the introduction of the Super 8 brand aims to meet the needs of domestic tourism in the Kingdom, estimated at 24 million people last year.
