More than 25,000 students underwent vocational and technical training at the Secondary Industrial Institutes in Jeddah and Makkah. Students were taught computer maintenance, fixing of electrical appliances, function of electrical circuits, car repairing and repairing mobile phones.
The announcement came at the end of the training program, “Understanding and concept of the technical and vocational training,” held on Monday.
The Board of Technical Education of Makkah organized this training with the educational and training council of the Education Department in Jeddah.
Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Zahrani, director of technical education in Makkah, Abdullah Al-Sakafeee, general secretary of Jeddah educational department, and Misfar Badran, director of the technical institute, awarded certificates to 700 students and teachers on the completion of the program.
Al-Zahrani said the aim of the program was to establish a professional culture of learning, with a positive direction to enhance the image of technical training.
The mission of the technical institute was to prepare students for various technical maintenance jobs.
Al-Sakafee said the Jeddah educational department with the cooperation of the technical council aims to educate students professionally.
“It is important to practice student’s skills as practice makes perfect, to encourage them with a professional orientation in multiple technical areas, as well as strengthen the cooperation with relevant government agencies,” said Al-Sakafee.
He further said that this technical diploma is established to fulfill the requirements and needs of the students according to their wishes.
