Eid preparations kicked off at several venues around Riyadh while in Jeddah the city never sleeps as residents gear up for shopping sprees and late nights in restaurants and entertainment venues.
Folk, cultural and theatrical activities presented at different locations in the capital provide families and singles with a memorable occasion.
According to the Riyadh Municipality, “Riyadh Eid is Doubled” activity between Exit 10 and 11 on the Eastern Ring Road ncludes a traditional tent presenting folk dances from the Western Provinces and Jazan area, and poetry reciting by a number of prominent poets from Riyadh area.
At the Children Theater, at the exhibitions’ court, children will enjoy plays, comedy sketches, rhymes, contests and appearance of cartoon characters. Acrobatic shows, clowns and hand tricks games will also take place at the same location.
Al Douh yard activities are limited to families this year where folk games, bicycle tricks and cartoon shows entertain children.
King Abdulaziz Al Manakh garden offers a full program of folk dances, folk food venues, traditional marketplace, and arts and crafts.
The garden will also present a number of activities for women only at an exclusive place under a full women supervision that includes plays, comedy sketches and contests, plus corners for Henna drawing, make-up and accessories.
Remote-control cars rallies will be held for the fifth consecutive year Al Swaidi exhibition area. The Saudi Tele-Match team will also present motor show, challenging contests and barriers jumping.
King Abdulaziz Historical Center will also present throughout Eid days, cultural activities for families and individuals, like children play, women play and tradition costumes exhibition in addition to women poetry reciting.
In Jeddah, various smaller activities take up families’ time, but most of the holiday will be spent at beach resorts, restaurants, hotels and entertainment areas. In Old Jeddah, sellers line the streets offering bargains while shops give steep discounts on textiles.
