Prince Muhammad bin Naif, assistant minister of interior for security affairs, has congratulated eight border guard officers for obtaining doctoral degrees while continuing in their jobs.
The minister met the officers during a graduation ceremony at the Institute of Marine Border Guards recently and was briefed about their research projects.
Brig. Muhammad Al-Sharari received his Ph.D. in "Quality management to ensure better performance of border guards," while Brig. Fahd Al-Qahtani presented a dissertation on "Saudi Arabia's strategy to protect its borders and its impact on national security" to obtain his doctoral degree. Col. Abid Al-Mazmouni won his Ph.D. on "Security strategy to combat terrorism and prevent illegal trade and migration at Saudi seaports."
Col. Saleh Al-Zahrani's topic for his degree focused on "The Kingdom's strategy to confront marine piracy and its impact on Saudi and Arab security."
Col. Hassan Aqeeli said his research to win the Ph.D. centered on "Requirements of environment security and its role in promoting environment tourism in Jazan."
Col. Sultan Al-Qahtani's research was on the Saudi-Yemeni border situation. Col. Ali Al-Molhem got his Ph.D. after presenting a study on "Protection of economic human rights in the Kingdom's governing system."
Lt. Col. Badi Al-Motairi got his doctoral degree after presenting a research paper on "Organizational and supplementary relations between agencies working at ports."
The border guard officers thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, for their support.
The directorate of the border guards is working to improve the standard of its officers by sending them for higher studies to Saudi and foreign universities.
