The Briman Bridge exit on the Haramain Road (Jeddah Highway) will open in about 48 hours for motorists heading for southern Jeddah, municipality officials said yesterday.
The exit was closed and the bridge demolished for the Haramain Train project almost six months ago.
It will re-open to ease daily traffic congestion on the highway that connects King Abdul Aziz International Airport to Makkah.
Following completion, the Briman exit will lead to a road to the new Huda Asham road that leads to Makkah. The travel time from the airport to the holy city will be reduced to about 30 minutes.
The entire project will completed in six months.
