Riyadh: The Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja laid in diplomatic quarter here today the foundation stone for the permanent headquarters of Gulf Radio and Television.
The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of Information Affairs Authority of Bahrain; Minister of Information in the Sultanate of Oman Dr. Abdulmoneim Bin Mansour Al-Hassani; Minister of Information and Minister of State for Cabinet’s Affairs of Kuwait Sheikh Mohammed Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, and Executive Vice President of Information Foundation of Qatar Mubarak Al-Kuwari; Assistant Secretary-General for Cultural Affairs and Information at General Secretariat of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States Khalid bin Salim Al-Ghassani, and Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Jasser.
In a press statement, Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Jasser said that Gulf Radio and TV is one of Gulf institutions founded upon a decision of GCC Ministers of Information, whose Board of Directors is headed by Minister Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja.
He pointed out that the project’s land has been donated by the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in addition to the Kingdom’s donation for the costs of construction exceeding SR 15 million, expecting that Gulf Radio and TV will move to its permanent headquarters in Riyadh within a year.
