Mere words fail to describe the sentiments of the people on viewing their king on the television screen after he left hospital fully recovered from his back complaint.
“Our love for Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah is beyond words,” Nadiah Oqbah, director of women’s social affairs office in Madinah, told the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Friday with tears of happiness welling in her eyes. She was reacting to the king’s discharge Thursday from the National Guard’s King Abdul Aziz Medical City after his recovery.
“People are enamored by the king’s sense of justice and humbleness before his citizens,” Abeer Al-Nazha, a painter, said.
“King Abdullah is a leader who is fully aware of his responsibilities to the people and the nation. People and their rulers are like a single family united by love, and they are driven forward by their loyalty,” a school student from Hanakiyah city, Amal Abdullah, said after hearing about the king leaving the hospital.
“King Abdullah gave love to the people and received love back. He loved people and they loved him. Yesterday, they flocked to the roads and streets close to the medical city where he was treated and his palace expressing their joy. The king was also delighted at the sight of the people,” Prince Saud bin Abdullah said on Thursday while reacting to the completion of his father’s treatment.
“The king’s discharge from hospital is a matter of great happiness to each and every one in the Kingdom. Near and far alike have felt the kindness of the king and his activities, which serve as a model for all,” Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah said in a statement. Al-Rabeeah also thanked the king for the unprecedented progress achieved in the health sector in the Kingdom.
Minister of Social Affairs Yousuf Al-Othaimeen congratulated the king and the royal family on the occasion of the king leaving the hospital. “We all should be grateful to the Almighty Allah for granting good health and well-being to the leader of our forward march, who serves not only the people in the country but the Ummah and the entire world,” he said.
Minister of Education Prince Faisal bin Abdullah said everyone in the Kingdom is expressing his or her true sentiment of happiness at the news. “They have expressed their happiness with their sincere prayers and their wish to the king’s long life with good health. People from all parts of the Kingdom were flocking to the hospital where the king was operated upon to be reassured about his health and share the joy of the moment of discharge,” Prince Faisal said, referring to the situation as a proof of the Saudi citizens’ loyalty and patriotism. The prince also congratulated Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, and other members of the royal family.
The education minister ordered the ministry to make arrangements for all teachers and students to get an opportunity to express their true sentiments on the happy occasion.
Congratulating the king, Hail Gov. Prince Saud bin Abdul Mohsen said the people’s reaction to the king’s successful treatment displayed the sturdiness of the social fabric of the Kingdom. “This kind of people’s strong and affectionate bond of relationship with the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his crown prince is a unique model in the world, and this has been achieved because of the Kingdom’s adherence to the Islamic Shariah,” the prince said.
Those who congratulated the king on the occasion also included Deputy Minister of Culture and Information for Media Affairs Prince Turki bin Sultan, Deputy Education Minister Khaled Al-Sabti, deputy chief of the Two Holy Mosques Affairs Muhammad Al-Khuzaim, and Adviser to the king and Secretary-General of the King Abdul Aziz Dialogue Center Faisal bin Muammar.
