Madinah governor to keep doors open for consultations

Prince Faisal bin Salman, the newly appointed governor of Madinah, said yesterday that he would safeguard the honor of citizens, keep his doors open for consultation and work for boosting the overall development of the second holiest city for Muslims in the world.
Prince Faisal, who took oath in front of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah on Sunday, stated he was looking forward to work with the people of Madinah, expecting their full cooperation.
"I know this is a great responsibility and I am full of hope that I would be able to perform my duties in the best manner, rising up to the expectations of the Saudi leadership," the prince added.
"King Abdullah has given top priority to the development of the two holy cities of Makkah and Madinah and ensure the security of pilgrims and visitors," the governor said.
Prince Faisal highlighted the significance of Madinah as the city to which Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) migrated from Makkah and where he laid to rest. "I will surely follow the directives of the king and the crown prince in improving the welfare and well-being of citizens, safeguarding their honor and meeting the region's development requirements."
Prince Faisal said he would establish contacts with all groups of people in the region without exception. "We'll keep our doors open, make consultations with experts and participate them in the decision-making process," he stated.
The governor said he would exert every effort to protect the region's security and stability and work for meeting the requirements of citizens and residents so that Madinah would remain a glittering pearl on the façade of our beloved country and on the face of its people.
The newly appointed governor said he was seeking proposals and assistance of Madinah people to accelerate the region's overall progress and prosperity. He thanked all previous Madinah governors for their contributions and achievements.
