Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON) has signed a logistics venture agreement with Tad Logistics to build a center for logistics services in dealing with chemicals in the Second Industrial City in Dammam.
The facility will have an estimated area of 12,000 sq. meters. The size of the investment is estimated at SR 40 million in the first stage, in which Tad Logistics company will deliver an integrated logistics and supply chain solution to and from factories.
In addition, construction will start on warehouses for industrial products and infrastructure for transport means for these products to different places locally and regionally.
Saleh Al-Rasheed, acting director general of MODON, signed the agreement with Khalid Al-Bawardi, CEO of Tad logistics.
“MODON looks forward in this project to benefit and transfer Tad Group’s experience in providing logistics services to add a new experience for (MODON). Therefore, the industrial cities will be provided with all integrated services through projects supporting factories in their logistical needs,” Al-Rasheed said.
He added: “MODON is always keen to attract the private sector to provide specialized services for factories in order to provide a supportive environment for industries, which in turn will be profitable for all parties as it has promising opportunities for the private sector.”
Al-Rasheed added that MODON seeks to attract investors in the logistics solutions in order to provide all services in the supply chain to facilitate the operations of factories regarding the delivery of raw materials, as well as their finished products to customers through the best means at low cost,which will create additional and competitive features among industrial cities in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Bawardi said: “Tad Logistics is a Saudi company based in Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, which was established in response to the growing demand for coordinated logistics solutions for the handling of hazardous and nonhazardous cargo in the region.”
He indicated that it is dedicated to providing all logistics solutions. It also specializes in the storage of hazardous chemicals through specialized standards and equipment that are used in this activity; such as shipping, transportation, storage and re-packaging of hazardous and nonhazardous substances.
Al-Bawardi pointed out that the company offers additional services for the industrial zone in dealing safely with hazardous materials and its management by following the international requirements and specifications for the safe handling of such materials, thus reducing the risk of accident that cause loss of lives and damage properties and cause environmental pollution.
