Local Saudi singers and performers with the cooperation of expatriate musicians entertained and enthralled the public in a multicultural musical event hosted at a hotel in Jeddah on Thursday.
The Desi Entertainers organized this event with the aim of providing a platform for people to enjoy different cultures through the universal language of music.
Founder of Desi Entertainers-Committee for Community, Mohammed Al-Mohammedi, said he founded this group in 2012 with the aim of bridging cultural differences and providing people the opportunity to socialize with one another, beyond their ethnic and social roots. He added this was the group’s fourth event this year, and they will continue to work hard in organizing cultural events for the public.
The main musical act of the evening was a captivating dance routine by a male group comprised of different nationalities called ‘Bfam’. The talented group danced to the music from various countries, giving the audience a taste of a rich and culturally dynamic performance.
Sajini Saleem a young girl opened the floor and sang different Arabic songs, while Farhan Ahmed and Faraz Ahmed danced to “Chinta Ta Ta Chita Chita”. Another local talent shone with songs like “Hat Ja ray chhokray”, “Aray preetam Payray” and 5 other songs.
The audience was pleasantly entertained with a dance skit performed by young children along with Mohammed Al-Mohammedi.
Later that evening, Mohammed Al-Ahdal, a young Saudi singer took the stage, enchanting the audience with his melodious voice. The audience was also transported to different countries as Sara Khan sang Bangladeshi songs, Amjad Khan sang in Indian and Donna Nagoy, from the Philippines, sang various popular English and Filipino songs that had the crowd singing along.
The evening also included a comedy act performed by Dawar Khan, mimicking Bollywood actors and a karate show enacted by the Budokan Karate club.
