The Kingdom has advanced to 36th place in the United Nations e-government index for the year 2014 out of a total of 193 world countries, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
“The Kingdom has realized an outstanding record at the global level in its drive to execute e-government transactions,” the UN report said.
The Kingdom came 41st in 2012 and 58th in 2010, according to the report, showing consistent improvement.
The UN report lauded the Kingdom for retaining its position among the top 20 countries in the world in the e-government services field. The Kingdom also ranked 8th among 47 Asian countries in e-transactions, it said.
The UN report classified Saudi Arabia among the best countries in the world for disseminating government information and data.
The report also appreciated the Saudi National e-Government Portal (Saudi) and its key services being provided by different government agencies.
