The Ministry of Health has approved a host of amendments to the rules regarding private health care centers in the Kingdom.
The amendments open the door for foreigners to own and run private health care centers and facilities in the Kingdom after meeting the conditions of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority and MoH regulations.
The eligibility of ownership will be determined by a committee formed by the Health Ministry.
Additionally, Saudi investors will be able to own private health care facilities even if they are not physicians. They can assign the management of their facilities to other parties that are licensed and experienced in managing such facilities.
Private health care facilities will not be allowed to change any approved services without a fresh application and they have to give valid reasons for making the changes.
