Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) launched a novel initiative that encourages its students to become entrepreneurs.
The announcement was made by Khalid Abdulrahman, head of the planning and quality control department of IMSIU, who said the project is part of IMSIU’s effort to bring about a qualitative change in the university.
The new program encourages students and faculty members to exchange ideas and proposals that would enhance academic, research and scientific work at the university.
The initiative aims to create a culture of research and development among students and faculty members.
“It is part of our strategic plan to develop the university’s environment,” Abdulrahman said, adding that the program “seeks to motivate members of the faculty, staff, administrators and students at the university to submit their proposals and ideas for this vital project.”
Yahya Al-Harbi, head of Public Administration and Information Studies, said the program reflects positively on the university’s environment and its staff.
“We invite everyone to participate and interact in providing a summary of ideas that could contribute to improving the university environment in terms of education, research and services,” he said.
Al-Harbi reaffirmed IMSIU’s keenness to provide full support to the university in carrying out its responsibility to the community.
He said the IMSIU would continue to promote the culture of innovation among students that would benefit them in the long run.
