Alkhobar’s Al-Aziziah beach remains popular for visitors

As one of the most well-known beaches in the Eastern Province, Al-Aziziah Beach attracts many tourists and hikers all year long. Despite the lack of services and cleaning available at the beach, many sellers set up shop there to sell household products, home-made popular Saudi dishes, dates, spices, grilled corn, Bahraini sweets and spices, Omani candy, bananas, coconuts and Jordan nuts and grains.
Al-Aziziah Beach also hosts many youth activities for visitors, including balloon games, water activities and horse riding facilities, in addition to shows and the sale of exotic animals. Popular cafes have also spread recently to offer visitors tea and Arabic coffee. Al-Azizia Beach is also known for its popular market, which offers household items, carpets and clothes, among other things.
On the beach itself, there are also popular entertainment areas for children, as well as excellent restaurants and cafes where people can enjoy snacks such as cooling ice creams. During the festive period, the beach provides a space for various special activities, including climbing on the sand dunes, as well as riding bikes, horses and camels.
“This market is great because it offers many games, and attracts many GCC visitors. I feel that the concerned authorities should pay more attention to it and should think about increasing it's attractions so that it can become a tourist and commercial landmark,” said Muhammad Al-Saad, a regular beach-goer from Al-Ahsa.
