DAMMAM: Two participants in a dialogue session titled “The Municipal Council and the Next Stage,” have called for the need to repose more trust in the role of Saudi women toward the service of their community.
At the same time, they encouraged women not to abstain from the opportunity of registering and taking part in the forthcoming municipal elections and exercise their rights as voters and candidates, local media reported.
The session was organized by Diwanyit Sanabis in the Social Development headquarters and focused on the active registration of women for voting. It also focused on the right electoral papers for voters to avoid previous mishaps.
Social and women’s affairs writer Ahmad Al Kharmadi talked about the importance of the role of women as voters and/or candidates in the coming municipal elections. “Women’s dreams are now being translated into reality as this is the first time they are voting and actively participating in the municipal elections.”
Abdelmoneim Aal Sofwan focused on the importance of social dialogue before the elections, where the message needs to be appropriately spelled out to be united and with horizons realized and practically driven.
