When words fall silent, pictures come in handy to describe a tragedy and the losses that come in its wake. A deadly tragedy did strike once again at Mina on Thursday when some 717 pilgrims were crushed to death in a stampede when the hapless Hajis were heading toward Jamarat Al-Aqaba to throw stones at pillars symbolizing the Satan. Pictures show bodies of the victims, as also they showcase the enormous efforts being taken by volunteers, medical staff and security forces to deal with this deadly situation.
