JEDDAH: The Makkah Investigation and Prosecution Board reintroduced the crane crash incident to the Riyadh Investigation and Prosecution Board recently, adding 10 more employees and supervisors from different government agencies before the courts. This brings the total number of those implicated in the case to 50.
This occurred after the Riyadh board sent back the file to its Makkah counterpart two weeks ago to make sure that nothing was missing ahead of the judicial proceedings, local media has reported.
The accused included engineers, supervisors and technical personnel. The driver of the crane was questioned again on the advice of the Riyadh board.
A source was quoted as saying that additional investigation by the Makkah board resulted in the adding 10 more people.
Meanwhile, the crane was dismantled and the repairs to the damage the crane had caused to the external square of the Haram were completed on Tuesday. Some more repair work is under way, the report said.
