4 engineering disciplines have no Saudi workers

RIYADH: The engineering sector is suffering from a lack of Saudi engineers in 11 specialties, according to a report published by the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) for the year 2015. The report revealed that no Saudi engineers joined four specialties last year.
The report also found that more than 30,000 non-Saudi engineers joined the SCE, taking the total number to 201,000 in comparison with 18,000 Saudi engineers.
The specialties that lack Saudi engineers are planning, construction, marine, technology, health and safety, electronics and information technology, technical industries, nuclear, technical civil engineering, mechatronics and medical engineering.

ThePlace: Souk Al-Majlis of Qassim

The Saudi marketplace Souk Al-Majlis, or the Divan Heritage Souk, is part of the old town of Al-Maznab and lies 7 kilometers from the urban center of the city in Al-Derah district.

Al-Maznab township itself is located  in southeastern Qassim province and covers an area of about 2 square kilometers.

It contains more than 380 houses of various sizes, while the old Divan Heritage Souk and the Masque of Bahla Palace form the starting point for the district and its main center.

The souk is popular with visitors and locals and hosts summer events, auctions and folklore presentations among other similar activities.
