“The people of Baha are extremely happy over Prince Ahmed’s visit to the region as it will give them an opportunity to meet with the minister,” the governor said.
Prince Mishari said the visit would give the minister an opportunity to inspect the various development projects in the region.
Prince Ahmed will chair a meeting of the Baha Provincial Council to know the region’s development requirements and meet with officials at the governorate.
He said the distribution of the Baha Awards by Prince Ahmed would strengthen its stature and importance.
The Baha Awards, which were introduced by Prince Mishari to recognize and encourage excellence, has eight categories: Qur’an and Hadith memorization; academic excellence; best cultural personality; best man or woman of letter and artist; best scientific innovation; distinguished performance; scientific research; and environment protection.
Hamid Al-Shammari, deputy governor of Baha and chairman of the prize committee, thanked Prince Ahmed for his support to the Award. “It shows the significance of the award which is given to people for their outstanding contributions,” he added.
Al-Shammari underscored the remarkable progress achieved by Baha under the leadership of Prince Mishari. “Ever since he took over as governor, Prince Mishari has been working to achieve a balanced and comprehensive development of the region.”
Speaking about Prince Ahmed’s visit, Al-Shammari said it would contribute to the region’s development.
“Prince Ahmed is not only a statesman and a security man but also a man of development and wisdom. He was the right hand man of Prince Naif, who was interior minister for about three decades. He has learned a lot of skills from his father King Abdul Aziz,” he said.
Muhammad bin Saeed Al-Hajari, assistant deputy governor, said Prince Ahmed’s visit would have a positive impact on social and administrative matters. “It will also boost the morale of government employees to exert more efforts in the service of the nation.”
Baha University President Saad Al-Horaigi said the people of Baha have been looking forward to Prince Ahmed’s visit with great hope and expectations. “Prince Ahmed’s presence at the prize distribution ceremony will give a big boost to the winners as well as organizers.”
