RIYADH: Saudi princes congratulated Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and the Saudi people on the seventh anniversary of the king's ascension to the throne and reaffirmed their allegiance to him.
Crown Prince Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, said the king is not only a statesman, but a leader of a nation achieving massively in all fields and making every effort to advance the Kingdom to a high position in the world.
He noted during the king's prosperous reign the country has achieved substantially in the local and international arenas.
“The king has administered the Kingdom's affairs in a unique and balanced way in the local and international arenas and he has been concerned with all affairs involving Islam and Muslims,” added the crown prince.
“He has provided the best services to pilgrims through the largest expansion of the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah and made substantial accomplishments in the holy sites that will make him an eternal leader in history.”
He indicated the king has played a significant role in unifying Arab and Islamic ranks, defended issues involving Arab and Islamic nations, and spread a culture of dialogue, peaceful coexistence, and combating terrorism.
Defense Minister Prince Salman said that during the king's reign the Kingdom has achieved significant leaps in all fields including education, health, social care and services for the prosperity of citizens and the progress of the country.
“The king's achievements included those related to the armed forces, which have witnessed development and progress in various fields, and become more ready and prepared to perform its missions to defend our country from any threat or external aggression,” he added.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal added the king has been a leader in national dialogue, dialogue between Muslim scholars, and dialogue among the followers of various religions, cultures and civilizations.
“King Abdullah has achieved greatly in the local and international arenas in the service of religion, the country and citizens, and toward ensuring international peace and security.”
