Saudi delegation tours sewage treatment, recycling plants in Japan

A Saudi delegation from the Ministry of Water and Electricity (MOWE), National Water Company (NWC) and water related companies, such as Moya Bushnak, Abunayyan, Dejla Water & Environment, ICDOC, Maaden, Mowah, and Kuwait's Khalid Ali Al-Kharafi & Bros. visited Japan (Osaka, Kobe, Tokyo and Yokohama) for a week for a sewage treatment and recycling study and business tour, organized by Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East (JCCME).
The delegation, headed by Ali Al-Motlag, general director of wastewater department, MOWE, and Saleh Saadawi, senior manager, assets and investment department, NWC Jeddah unit, visited the state-of-the-art sewage and treatment, and recycling technology, management and operation in the municipalities in Japan.
In Tokyo, they also visited Japanese government, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industries (METI) and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) for ensuring further cooperation between Saudi and Japanese ministries, particularly for the human resource development programs.
During their stay, Japanese private companies showed keen interest in their business communications with the delegation.
As JCCME set the B2B discussion opportunities in Tokyo, more than 10 Japanese companies made their presentations and had business communications with the delegation.
Finally, at the farewell reception in the center of Tokyo, organized by JCCME's Managing Director Nakanishi, they celebrated the success of the delegation's visit and enhanced their mutual understandings and further business opportunities.
All participating members were given certificates by JCCME for participating in the tour.
Ali Al-Motlag, the delegation head, expressed his gratitude to the JCCME staff and the people who assisted in the success of the visit and said: "The visit was well-organized, informative and useful. We will have Japanese technologies in the sewage treatment and recycling sector in Saudi Arabia."
