A workshop on dental implantation was held in Madinah for 115 students of Taiba University’s Dentistry Faculty. Their participation earns each student 12 credit hours. The workshop ended yesterday.
As part of the workshop, the fifth-year students watched a live broadcast of an operation where dentistry consultants implanted roots into the jaws of two patients, who had local anesthesia. The operation was performed at the faculty’s clinics and was also broadcast to the faculty’s main lecture hall.
The two-day workshop also included lectures and tooth transplantation training using plastic models. The workshop was held at Anwar Almadina hotel and was organized by the faculty in cooperation with a specialist medical and pharmaceutical services company and is approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
Those who attended the workshop included faculty members, doctors from different sectors and two specialists from Riyadh’s King Saud Medical City Dental Center: Dr. Bishi Al-Qarni and Dr. Abdullah Al-Kuraidis.
Faculty Dean Dr. Walid bin Ridha Marshad said the faculty is committed to implementing the highest standards in training and education using the latest methods.
The university, he said, is determined to play an effective role in level of performance of dentists through courses, medical education programs, and supporting academic and applied research programs that are of a strategic importance in terms of the country’s development plans.
