TVTC holds tourism workshop with JCCI

Bringing together experts in tourism and hospitality management and giving youth a chance to learn about the industry was the aim of a workshop at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) on Tuesday.
The Technical and Vocational Training Council (TVTC) Makkah, JCCI and the Human Resources Development Fund organized the workshop. The workshop brought together government and private sectors on one platform so they could jointly highlight the tourism sector of the Kingdom.
Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Zahrani, president of TVTC Makkah, emphasized on the need to remove obstacles and work hard, together with all relevant authorities, to develop this vital sector.
“The Authority of Saudi Tourism Sector and other institutions need to create a strategic partnership, and distribute the work according to their role to achieve target. Implementing mechanisms of cooperation, a continued development of partnership, the development of a vision and future plans and discussing ways to develop and expand tourism programs will move things forward,” he said.
The seven-session workshop touched on all of the issues Al-Zahrani mentioned. He said the TVTC sought to strengthen strategic partnership with the private sector, through an exchange of cooperation and expertise in the travel and tourism sector.
“We want to make available opportunities for training and employment in all regions of the Kingdom. We gave some recommendations for the development of the training program and role of private sector, as well as to make the workshop an annual event in various parts of the Kingdom,” said Al-Zahrani.
