The value of Saudi's nonoil exports stood at SR 14.83 billion for May this year, up SR 50 million from the same period last year, or an increase of 0.34 percent, according to a report by the Central Department of Statistics and Information.
Exports of petrochemical products ranked first on the report capturing 37.18 percent of the total nonoil exports at the value of SR 5.51 billion, followed by plastic products with 29.94 percent at SR 4.44 billion and foodstuffs with 7.92 percent, the report said.
China ranked first among countries mainly receiving the Kingdom's nonoil exports, acquiring 12.16 percent of Saudi's total exports, followed by the UAE and Singapore at 9.59 percent and 7.3 percent respectively.
On the other hand, the value of imports entering Saudi Arabia in May increased by 4.19 percent at SR 44.54 billion, an increase of SR 1.79 billion, compared to the same period last year, the report said.
Machines and electric equipment topped the list in value of all Saudi imports during May at SR 11.73 billion, capturing 26.33 percent of total items imported, followed by transport equipment at SR 8.03 billion (18.04 percent), minerals and related products at SR 6.15 billion (13.83 percent), and foodstuffs at SR 5.98 billion (14.44 percent), according to the report.
China ranked first out of countries exporting goods to Saudi Arabia in May at 13.13 percent of total imports, followed by the United States and Japan at 13.11 percent and 7.26 percent respectively, the report added.
