AKRON, Ohio: Adam Scott is willing to settle for the silver lining instead of the silver claret jug he let slip away at the British Open.
Scott returns to golf this week as the defending champion at the Bridgestone Invitational. Still fresh in most minds is how the Australian lost a four-shot lead with four holes to play at Royal Lytham & St. Annes to lose his best shot at winning a major. Scott says while he remained numb for a few days at his home in Switzerland, his performance made him believe more than ever that he's closing in on a major.
Scott says more people feel sorry for him than he feels for himself. He's more interested in the final major next week at the PGA Championship.
