The 67th Indonesian Armed Forces Day Golf Tournament was held last week with Mursidi Setia and Mocca Tanggorac claiming Best Gross and Best Net honors at the Dirab Golf & Country Club.
The two-in-one event also was a farewell for Col. Achmad Riad and attracted 14 players from various ASEAN embassies in the Saudi capital.
Setia deservedly won the Best Gross crown with a 78, just six over on the par-72 flat but challenging layout.
Tanggorac, with a 21 handicap, put together a winning net score of 75, with Ding Manalo and Taha Guinomla of the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, second and third after countback on 77.
The awards for longest drive, closest to pin went to Ebrahim Zailon, Nino (No. 7) and Guinomla (No. 11).
The awarding ceremony took place after the 18-hole stroke play competition. Irvan Fachrizal of the Indonesian Embassy thanked DGCC for hosting the event, sponsor Indomie Noodles (Pinehill Arabia Food Ltd.) and the players for supporting the tournament. In addition to the raffle prizes each player received a box of Indomie Noodles.
