Shemesy hammered Al Kharj while Aziziah cagers maintained their winning form over Artec for their second straight wins during the fourth week of action in the Siglakas International Riyadh South District Unity Cup Basketball Tournament 2012 at the Dunes Compound Filipino Community basketball court in Olaya Thalateen area here.
Coach Cris Aborde’s Shemesy team anchored by big man Reneil Ebora, Rusty Rabe, Bobby “Bull Strong” Garcia, neophyte Crisvin Aborde and Christopher Mangibin buckled to work and showed it can handle Al Kharj’s best punches in the 67-45 victory.
The first half was tight. Al Kharj led by the trio of Pepito Dela Vega, Marnie Singian and Norlito Aniag gained control during the initial period, 11-9, before Shemesy wrested a 27-24 lead to end the second quarter.
It was all Shemesy as it effectively closed the door on Al Kharj with a big 46-28 lead going into the final 10 minutes
Aziziah of coach Willy Abdon once again proved the better team over Artec of Jonathan Nevado 64-55.
After a close battle in the first two quarters that ended 15-10 and 30-25 the Aziziah combo of Edison Bien, Raymond Gile, Angel Bautista, Engelbert Josue and Ryan Reyes stepped up to take firm control the rest of the way.
Melvin Gerali scored 25 points and with the support of Armando “Jun” Tellis, Ermar Martin, Ireneo Obejo and Neil Mananghaya led Artec in vain.
Yamama won by default against Wardeh team for its first win.

Henry Dumalaon is the league commissioner of the Siglakas International Riyadh South District tournament committee. Supporting Dumalaon is the 3-Kapisanan working committee Cris Cabigting, Romeo Manahan, Leo Zamora, Joan Malayo, Aiza Guerrero, Hazel Redolme and Sarah Jane Suguitan. The Siglakas Referees Group led by Artemio Turla handles the the tournament officiating.
