Social security beneficiaries get SR 139 million

The Ministry of Social Affairs has deposited SR 139.17 million in the accounts of beneficiaries of the social security program Cash Assistance for Food for the current month of Muharram (1434H).
The size of families benefiting from the cash assistance program for food varies to reach 15 members as stipulated by a royal decree and a decision made by the Ministry of Finance, which allocated SR 4.5 billion to activate the social security programs, a spokesman for the ministry was quoted by the Saudi Press Agency as saying.
He said the Cash Assistance for Food program falls within the seven programs aimed to support needy families.
These include home furnishing, school supplies, paying electricity bills, purchasing health insurance, production projects, and home restoration projects. The programs are separate from regular monthly benefits, he said.
In October, the ministry deposited SR 136.6 million in the accounts of beneficiaries of the Cash Assistance for Food program.
Eligible beneficiaries of the social security program include widows, orphans, deserted family members, and people with temporary or permanent debilitating health conditions and disabilities.
