Three weeks into resumption to begin the second round after the break for the holidays, Cool Guys had a dominating performance with back-to-back Team of the Week honors while Jun de Dios and Akang Victorino both turned in superb individual displays in the Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club (OFBC) 4 +1 Friday Afternoon League First Season at at IN-10-SO lanes in Serafi Megamall here.
A perfect total of 30 points on their way to the team award on the 11th week punctuated the Cool Guys’ second straight trip to the podium having won the same award the week before on 28 points.
It was the third overall Team of the Week accolade for the league leaders who joined Fed & AAA as the only teams to score 30 points in this tournament organized by OFBC in cooperation with IN-10-SO bowling manager Hani “King” Al Touhki.
The Youngsters repeated as Team of the Week on total pinfalls countback from PCG-Jeddah after both teams totaled 26 points during the 12th session with Victorino of The Transferee securing her women’s Bowler of the Week plum for the second straight week with a three-game series of 564 that bettered her mark of 521 when she also won the invidual award the previous session.
De Dios of Cool Guys became the winningest individual bowler thus far, bagging a hat trick of men’s Bowler of the Week awards to hike his total haul of accolades to four.
De Dios’ three straight Bowler of the Week award-winning series were 613, 651 and 648 for the 10th, 11th and 12th weeks.
Margie Villasanta of the Youngsters broke through the De Dios-Victorino juggernaut by winning the women’s individual award on the 10th week with a 539.
In winning their second team award Youngsters brought down Current Bowlers 16-4 on total pinfalls of 2,378-2,296 and rank points of 10-8.
Leading the Youngsters charge were the troika of Vic Gonzales 603, Toto Lim, 597 and Leo Apacible 596. Jerry Carredo added 575 and Vangie Lim 496.
PCG-Jeddah missed out on the team award despite a 20-0 shutout over Lance & Thirdy on total pinfalls of 2,174 and rank points of 6 and 3.
Joel Alegre and Errol Reyes hit 593 and 574 at the helm of Philcongen with Caloy Nuguit on 529 and Hamdan Sayedy on 453.
Also winning by shutout on the 12th week were Fed & AAA and RJ Transient Houses over Yanbu 4Ever and The Transferee on total pinfalls of 2,172-0 and 2,167-1,843 and rank points of 5-1 and 4-2, respectively.
In another match, Makatifoods Pinbusters defeated Cool Guys 12-8 on total pinfalls of 2,213-2,300 and rank points of 7-9.
