Cool Guys joined Fed & AAA as the only teams to go perfect two times with another prodigious display during the 13th session in the Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club (OFBC) 4 + 1 Friday Afternoon League First Season at IN-10-SO lanes in Serafi Megamall here.
A week after scoring the maximum possible score of 30 points, Cool Guys repeated the feat that translated to a Team of the Week and men’s Bowler of the Week double courtesy of Salic Mudag.
Mudag shot the high series of 625 on lines of 179, 152 and 219 as Cool Guys demolished Lance & 3rdy 20-0 on total pinfalls of 2,312-2,107 and rank points of 10 and 5.5.
Med Ramos and team captain Jun De Dios supported Mudag on 586 and 543. Mac Galang had two games of 151-153 and Sol Cuenca completed the scoring on 159.
Current Bowlers owned the second-best tally of 27 points on the day with PCG-Jeddah and Fed AAA pooling 26 and 25 points respectively.
Cool Guys celebrated their fourth Team of the Week plum, the most of any team thus far, as they cemented their grip on first place in the team standings of the tournament organized by OFBC in cooperation with IN-10-SO bowling manager Hani “King” Al Touhki.
Current Bowlers blasted The Transferee 18-2 on total pinfalls of 2,294-2,066 and rank points of 9-2.5 thanks mainly to the duo of Tom Langa and Robert Gamboa who rolled solid series of 615 and 613 to go with the 579 by team captain Bash Langa 119-131 by Julmain Juripae and 132 by Thong Langa.
PCG-Jeddah emerged an easy 18-2 winner over RJ Transient Houses on total pinfalls of 2,273-2,080 and rank points of 8-4. Joel Alegre took charge at PCG-Jeddah with 601 with Caloy Nuguit on 558, Hamdan Sayedy 546, Allan Salamanes 171-144 an Errol Reyes 148.
Rudy Valenzuela missed the 600 series by 3 pins with 597 to lead Fed & AAA to an 18-2 thrashing of previous week honoree The Youngsters on total pinfalls of 2,184 and rank points of 7 and 1.
The other scorers at Fed & AAA were skipper Khalid Bustinera 550, Ed Cordova 495, Fedelyn Bustinera 124-189 and Mia Cedotes 109.
In the other match, Makati Foods Pinbusters defeated Yanbu 4ever 12-8 (2,107-2,066 and 5.5-2.5)
Christine Esperancilla had a ladies Bowler of the Week award-clinching performance in leading the Makati Foods, shooting 572 on lines of 154, 153 and 160.
Benj Espinosa, team captain Vovstone and Archie Alcantara carded 531, 502 and 501 that all counted toward the team total.
