Jamco struggles past Peeran Warriors in ACE Travel Cup

Jamco scored a hard-fought 15-run win over Peeran Warriors for the ACE Travel Cup cricket league, organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association. In the other matches, Universal routed Young Stars by 44 runs while Munch Bakery scored a comfortable six-wicket win over Peeran-XI.
Jamco made first use of the track and scored 250 for 5. The man of the match was Jamco’s Nazim who scored a match winning 101 (6 x 8, 4 x 7). Khurram (88) was the other batsman who impressed for the winners. Nazim and Khurram were involved in a 153-run partnership. Ameen took 3 for 47 while Hussain claimed 2 for 46.
Peeran made a gallant chase led by Ameen’s gallant 98 off 37 balls but managed 235. Umar came next with 32 followed by Ihsan 23, Farhan 28 and Mohsin 22. Mubashir took 3 for 32. Karam and Faisal had a wicket each for 66 and 60 runs respectively.
In the other match, Universal made 189 for 4from their stipulated overs. Mushtaq top-scored with 94 runs. Inayat was the other batsman who dazzled with an unbeaten 50 while Shoaib got 24. Nadeem claimed 2 for 45. There were 2 run outs.
In reply Young Star struggled to 145 for 9 and fell short by 44 runs. Arsalan top-scored with 59 runs, followed by Shabbier 31 runs and Nadeem 16. Mushtaq to 2 for 8. Ziad, Tariq and Zaheer claimed one wicket each for 32,25 and 20 runs respectively.
Elsewhere, Peeran X1 batted first and were all out for 164. Kamran was the highest scorer with 48 runs. Shakeel and Hussain added 14 and 20 respectively.. Umar got 18 for 3 while Saleem bagged 2 for 18. Abdul Raoof, Shahid and Mustafa had one wicket each for 19, 13 and 17 runs respectively. Mustafa played a hurricane innings 81 for Munch Bakery, which was studded with 9 sixes. Zain Ul Huda scored a well-made 35 runs. Munch Bakery were home for the loss of 4 wickets. Zaheer got 2 for 35.
