The secretary general of Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA) Said Jamaan and Organizing Committee head of Arab Cup Championship Muhammed Al-Sarrah yesterday opened a new media center at the InterContinental Jeddah Hotel in Jeddah.
As well as implementation of a directive ordered by the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz Khoja the InterCon opening brings the number of media centers that will serve the needs of journalists covering the regional football event to four in both Jeddah and Taif.
Jamaan appreciated continued support given by the Ministry of Information adding that the center boasts the latest media equipment that will help make the job of Arab mediamen a lot easier.
He said the event was being well covered by journalists from both the print and electronic media.
He also extended thanks to the Saudi Football Federation (SFF) for setting up the conference hall at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah.
For his part, head of Events and Media Studies in the Ministry of Information, Amir Al-Amir, said personnel at the media center are working on round-the-clock, three-shift basis in which a cadre of young specialists has been trained to trouble shoot any possible technical failure in the center operations.
