The Ministry of Social Affairs paid SR 1.07 billion to social security beneficiaries earlier this month, the Saudi Press Agency reported, quoting a ministry spokesman.
He told the SPA benefits include pensions and subsidies for the holy month of Ramadan. A total of 1,243 new cases were added to the overall 778,926 beneficiaries who receive social security payments.
These include widows, orphans, deserted family members, and individuals who have permanent or temporary debilitating health conditions.
The ministry’s social security agency continues to collect and analyze data of beneficiaries on a monthly basis, he said.
Services are provided through 97 social security offices around the Kingdom.
