Saudi stock market's 3-day surge ended yesterday as shares of Saudi companies declined a little from earlier levels on relatively low turnover.
The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) closed yesterday at 6,727.83, declining by 63.13 points or 0.93 percent.
Overall performance of sectoral indices remained negative as all closed in the red, except the Insurance and Hotel, which gained 51.65 points collectively.
Remaining 13 sectors lost an aggregate of 472.67 points for the day.
Petrochemical sector recorded the biggest losses, down by 1.73 percent. Banks & Financial Services trimmed 161.58 points or 1.04 percent for the day.
Most of heavy weights closed lower; where bellwether SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corp.) fell 2.45 percent and Al-Rajhi Bank 1.68 percent.
However, Kingdom Holding among heavy weights continued to play well for the fourth consecutive day, advancing by 3.04 percent.
The trading activity remained roughly 23 percent lower than previous day. More than 289.7 million shares worth SR5.7 billion exchanged hands on the Saudi stock market.
The 50-day average for trading volume is closer to 444 million shares.
The market breadth was negative with 96 stocks witnessing declines against 47 stocks witnessing advances.
