Haj Minister Bandar Hajjar yesterday visited the Tawafa Organization for South Asian Pilgrims in Makkah and urged its officials to improve its services to pilgrims by mobilizing their human and material resources.
Hajjar met with chairman and members of the organization’s board of directors and discussed its preparations for the Haj season.
“Heads of field service groups and their members must do their duties properly,” he said, adding that the ministry would supervise their services.
Hajjar urged the organization to make use of the huge facilities being provided by the government in the service of pilgrims.
“We also request you to concentrate more on sending pilgrims in groups to the Jamrat in Mina and to the Grand Mosque at the appointed times to avoid overcrowding,” he said.
The ministry has set out a plan for sending pilgrims of various Tawafa organizations to the Jamrat and the Haram Mosque in coordination with the Public Security and Civil Defense Department.
The ministry will hold its first workshop on developing a data bank on Haj-related cities and places at Hayat Park Hotel in Jeddah on Wednesday. Hajjar will attend the program, which is organized as part of the ministry’s efforts to improve services to Haj and Umrah pilgrims.
