Tawafa establishments blamed for train delay

International experts have absolved Mashair Railway of any role in the delay and stampede at a crowded railway station in Arafat on Oct. 25.
The experts’ report on the causes of the incident was submitted to the authority concerned recently.
The experts blamed some tawafa establishments for helping pilgrims without tickets to board trains and causing delays. The data recorded on cameras at the stations showed that the stampede of pilgrims was outside the fenced railway station, the experts said.
They blamed squatters for blocking the roads leading to the railway station.
The reports added that the failure to distribute ticket-carrying pilgrims evenly in the three stations in Arafat was another reason for confusion at stations.
