The Saudi cultural attaché in Tokyo recently organized a workshop for Saudi scholarship students to enlighten them on academic programs in Japanese universities.
The workshop at Waseda University was attended by experts from 30 leading Japanese universities as well as 120 Saudi students in different stages of education.
Addressing the workshop, Dr. Essam Bukhary, the cultural attaché, highlighted Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah’s support for higher education of Saudi students.
He emphasized the role of Saudi students, who have been sent abroad for higher education, in contributing to the Kingdom’s development by transferring modern technology and transforming their country a knowledge-based economy.
He thanked Japanese universities for participating in the workshop to provide Saudi students with necessary guidelines to make their education in Japan effective and successful.
Prof. Katsuichi Uchida, vice president of Waseda University, welcomed Saudi students. He commended the Saudi government’s efforts to develop the country’s manpower by providing them with higher education and training.
He said Japanese universities would contribute to strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education.
Representatives of various Japanese universities later made presentations on their academic programs and admission
requirements.
