Toyota Genuine Parts of Yousuf Ramil Antonio beat Smat Jeddamonz 78-71 to be crowned as Inter-Company Division B champion in the JBL Invitational Basketball League at Bin Mafouz court on Tahlia Street, Al Andalus District here.
Toyota Genuine Parts displayed a big fighting heart in the final quarter as Smat Jeddamonz repeatedly tried to secure the driver’s seat by attacking the enemy defensive wall.
Montano Dela Cruz, showing his playmaking ability, led TGP with 21 points and was adjudged as the Giordano Best Player of the game while Baniel top-scored with 21 points for Jeddamonz.
This was the fourth championship achieved by ALJ Toyota basketball teams in leagues across Jeddah counting the three that the outfit won under team manager-head coach Jimmy Beltran.

Petro Rabigh escaped a near defeat in a 77-73 victory over to claim the Inter-Commercial 5’8” and below crown.
Petro Rabigh wisely played the clock in the final quarter as Nesma missed the equalizer with 12 seconds in the game. Petro Rabigh got the rebound and went to Noblejaz to ice the game with his 20 points. Noblejaz was adjudged as Arab News Best Player of the game while EJ scored 18 points for Nesma.
Maya beat Diet Center 80-66. Maya International played no mercy basketball as it jumped to a 42-34 lead after the first half of the game.
Maya played three-man offense as Tubid, Soriano and Castillo scored 19, 18 and 16 points respectively. Tubid was adjudged as the Saudi Sign Best Player of the game while Ismael had 27 points for Diet Center.
JBL President Mohammad Rasheed Suyat and Commissioner Joe dela Cerna handed over the trophies and Giordano gifts to the winners during the awards ceremony after the final games.

Inter-Company Division Group A — Maya International champion, Diet Center 1st runner-up, Al Saad Construction 2nd runner-up and Nissan Alhamrani 3rd runner-up. Mythical five players: Ismael (Diet Center), Charlie Bioca (Al Saad), Jason Villanueva (Nissan Alhamrani), Lito Soriano (Maya Int’l.) and Alvin Tubid (Maya Int’l.) Ray Mangohig (Maya) best coach; Jojo Castillo (Maya) Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Inter-Company Division Group B — Toyota Genuine Parts champion, Smat Jeddamonz: 1st runner-up, Al Khorayef 2nd runner-up and STC Terabytes 3rd runner-up. Mythical five players: Sonny Sorreta (STC Terabytes), M. Llanita (Al Khorayef), Rex Ablaza (Smat Jeddamonz), Reynold Borceque (Toyota Genuine Parts) and Glenn Munsgi (Toyota Genuine Parts); Ismael Ferey (Toyota Genuine Parts) best coach; Paul Gerald Taguba (Toyota Genuine Parts) Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Inter-Commercial Division 5’8” and below — Petro Rabigh: champion, Nesma 1st runner-up, ALJ Toyota CPD 2nd runner-up and Jeddah Eagles 3rd runner-up. Mythical five players: Alfred Benzouzou (Jeddah Eagles), Montano Dela Cruz (ALJ Toyota CPD), TJ (Nesma), Noblejaz (Petro Rabigh) and Minerva (Petro Rabigh); Jun Agpalo (Petro Rabigh) best coach; Domingo (Petro Rabigh) Most Valuable Player (MVP).
