Of the six Indian fishermen who were to pay compensation to their Saudi sponsors for not completing their contract, two still remain in the Kingdom.
The fishermen were working at Umlaj near Yanbu and wanted to leave the Kingdom because of difficult working conditions. The men had to spend two to three days a week at sea after traveling 40 km through the desert.
Their health deteriorated as a result of bad accommodation and food. Their sponsors demanded compensation because they had not completed their six months of service.
