UAE national day celebrated

The 41st union national day of the United Arab Emirate was celebrated by the UAE consul general in the presence of Saudi princes, Saudi dignitaries, diplomats and consuls general on Wednesday at the Hilton Hotel.
Ahmed Mohammed Mangoosh, UAE consul general, welcomed the guests and said the presence of Prince Sultan bin Naser, Prince Faisal bin Sultan bin Naser, Ambassador Mohammed Ahmed Al-Tayeb, director general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in addition to all the Saudi dignities, diplomats and friends, showcased the strong and close relations between the two countries.
“We are very thankful to the royal family and our Saudi brothers for joining us on the occasion and celebrating the occasion with us. We are very happy for the unity of the country and we will keep the spirit of the unity for the future of the UAE nation and country,” Mangoosh said.
Prince Sultan bin Naser bin Abdulaziz congratulated the leadership and people of the UAE on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of its union and said this is a very important and pleasurable occasion for the Saudi leadership and the leadership of the UAE and all Arab countries, especially the union of the UAE for its future. "This union has brought prosperity to the UAE and we hope this will continue to be so."
“I am very happy to be here on the occasion of the UAE national day and join our colleague Ahmed Mohammed Mangoosh on this happy occasion for all Arab countries. I would like to avail this opportunity for sending my best regards and wishes to the leadership of UAE and people. I am sure such occasion will play an important role in strengthening the relationship between Saudi Arabia and the UAE,” said Ahmed Al-Tayeb.
The United Arab Emirates is a constitutional federation of the emirates Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Qaiwain, Ras Al-Khaimah and Fujairah. The federation was formally established on Dec. 2, 1971.
Mangoosh’s message on the occasion was read out by Abdullah Salem A. Al-Hemri, assistant consul general, where he marked Dec. 2, 1971 as the most important date for the UAE nation and country.
He said the 41 years of union is one of pride and one that led to the establishment of industries, advancement in economic progress and development of the country and succeeded in fulfilling the goals and targets for the future of the nation and youth.
“The 41 years of unity and celebrations are due to the efforts of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan and we should stay united. We should remember that we have to strengthen our unity with our pride for the development of the country, nation and its future,” he said.
