Unica shines in UFTBR-Etihad Tuesday League

Unica emerged as Team of the Week in week 17of the Unified Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Riyadh (UFTBR)-Etihad Airways Tuesday Bowling League at the Universal Bowling Center (UBC).
Unica defeated Lane Cruiser 18-9 and solidified their hold at third place in the team standings. Thong Asuncion led the team in scoring with a 4-game series of 858 with contributions from Nap Torres (800), Beth Danganan (788), Jojo Gabriel (777), Armin Isles (563) and Mike Miranda (220).
In the battle for top place, second placer and defending champion Kamahalan totally dominated No. 1 team NBA 16-9.
It could well be a preview of the looming semifinals and finals clash of the two top teams with Kamahalan prevailing and clearly giving NBA a strong warning that it is still the team to beat.
In other matches, Mandirigma won over Saco Bolts 15-7, SABB Advance salvaged a close match with Pin Pals 15-14, Habagat defeated Vinnell 14-11, Ayaw Na downed Thrill Seekers 16-9 and Pin Hitters rolled back Dabarkads 13-8.
Bembol Velasco of Kamahalan grabbed the Bowler of the Week honors in Group 1 with a series of 867, together with Ric Singson in Group 2 with a series of 871. Ronald Bautista still leads in the MVP race Group 1 with an average of 216.88 followed by Arnold Jesena(214.44) and AndroTismo(213.07). In the Group 2 MVP race, Fathi Abdulaziz (188.68) still leads followed by Ryan Inigo(184.57) and Shawn Rickett (183.15).
