US diplomat gains insight into Savola operations

Anne Caspar, US Consul General in Jeddah, visited The Savola Group along with a delegation from the consulate.
Abdulraouf Mannaa, group managing director, receives the delegation at the headquarters of United Sugar Company, which is a Savola Group subsidiary.
He was accompanied by Mohammed Al-Klaiby, CEO of Savola Foods Arabia; Muwaffaq Jamal, CEO of Azizia Panda United; Mazen Badawood, vice president KSA and Professional Trade (SFC); Mahmoud Abdul Ghaffar, chief of corporate affairs and board secretary; Gerard Lawlor, group chief financial officer.
During her visit, the US Consul General in Jeddah toured United Sugar Company facilities including the refinery and the plant and was then briefed on Savola including its sectors and activities inside and outside the Kingdom as well as key milestones and achievements.
The presentation also featured Savola’s corporate social responsibility programs and initiatives and the work ethics and values adopted by the group.
The US Consul General expressed her delight with the program, “Thank you for a wonderful presentation and discussion. It has been a pleasure getting to know The Savola Group and the wonderful work you do, successfully in both business and in community outreach.”
United Sugar Company, a Savola Group subsidiary produces sugar with an overall annual production capacity around 1.3 million tons.
