Minister of Water and Electricity Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Husain signed a series of contracts on several water and sewage projects in the Kingdom worth more than SR 364 million, Saudi Press Agency reported.
The contracts include the completion of a drinking water project for a number of villages in Amlaj region, Tabuk Province, at a cost of SR 89.97 million to be implemented in 20 months, the implementation of a water reservoir and pumping station in Tathlith, Asir Province, and an operation and maintenance contract for water projects in the Northern Borders Province costing SR 54.21 million and SR 38.36 million respectively.
Other contracts include the implementation of household sewage connections in Madinah Province (phase one) at SR 32.79 million, the operation and maintenance of sewage networks in Madinah (SR 29.53 million), the implementation of sewage networks in Majmah and Qasim Province at SR 26.31 million and SR 23.82 million respectively.
The contracts also included studies on strategic water tanks in Abha and Asir Province at a cost of SR 14.82 million, drilling supportive wells in Qasim Province at a cost of SR 13.26 million, studies on major pipelines for water and sewage in Asir Province (phase one) at a cost of SR 9.73 million.
