A completely burned body of an East Asian woman was found in an independent room in an annex on the roof of a two-story building on Macarona Road, which caught fire Saturday, Civil Defense said.
Civil Defense said rescue and fire-fighting brigades were sent to the scene of the fire along with security patrols and ambulances of the Saudi Red Crescent the moment the information about the fire was received.
Civil Defense did not identify the woman but said investigations were being made to determine the cause of the fire and to decide if there was any foul play. Civil Defense said all other residents of the annex had been safely evacuated and nobody had been injured.
