Yanbu 4ever steals show in OFBC Friday Afternoon League

The new bowling league in town playing Fridays in the afternoon at IN-10-SO in Serafi Megamall entered its fourth week with Yanbu 4ever claiming Team of the Week honors.
Yanbu returned the best haul of the day — 28 total win points — from an 18-2 points victory over The Transferee on total pinfalls of 2,206-2,155 and the highest rank points of 10 in the Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club (OFBC) Friday Afternoon League First Season 2012.
Youngsters swept the points on offer in the match against Lance & 3rdy 20-0 (2,088-1,952) but their poor output for a mere 2 rank points ruled them out of hnors and they settled for second place on 22, six points adrift of Yanbu.
Makati Foods Pinbusters tallied 21 points on the day, beating league leader Cool Guys 12-8 (2,189-2,172) while RJ Transient Houses missed the 20 points mark by a hair on 19 after a 12-8 victory over PCG-Jeddah on total pinfalls of 2,160 and 2,126.
The other match between FED & AAA and Current Bowlers ended in a 10-10 draw on total pinfalls of 2,103 and 2,106. FED finished the session on 13 points and Current Bowlers on 14.
The organizing OFBC said the league is aimed primarily at providing access to beginning bowlers without prejudice to other players of different skill levels. At the head of OFBC commissioner is Joel Nidoy. Helping Nidoy run the show are:
Jerry Carredo, president-internal; Bob Stone; president-external; Vangie Lim, secretary; Shirley Sagmit, treasurer; Toto Lim, auditor; Fuly Primo, PRO; Evelyn Santoc, Rudy Jamon, Lito delos Reyes, advisers; Alona Antinero and Esperancilla, representatives (ladies); Ric Reformado and Ding Dela Rosa, representatives (men) and Freddie “Kaka” Javier, fund-raising coordinator.
Makatifoods through Stone sponsored the gift packs for Bowlers of the Week.
The individual Bowler of the Week honors went to Jun De Dios of Cool Guys and Alma Baylon of Makatifoods who rolled the high series of 639 and 566 in the men’s and ladies divisions.
Lito delos Reyes and Jun Baculod led the Yanbu charge with 618 and 608 respectively while Estela delos Reyes added 523. Garry Raymundo contributed a piar of 129s, while Carmen Bernardo added 144.
The Youngters encountered little trouble against Lance to come up with a perfect 20 points for the match thanks mainly to the pair of Ryan Okol and skipper Jerry “Ka Imo” Carredo who drilled 552 and 488. Rey Matiga, Vic Gonzales and Vangie Lim each had two games of 143-1345, 165-159 and 124-132.
Over at Makatifoods Carling Constantino shot 553 to support Baylon, while Archie Alcantara, Benj Espinosa and Christine Stone carded 153-167, 147-155 and 137-121. RJ Transient got a lift from the trio of Rudy Jamon, Hadi Pacheco and Malou Nidoy who fired 556, 551 and 520. Rounding out the scores that counted were 147-150 from Lourdes Punzalan and 180 from Joel Nidoy.
Eidris Mangoda’s 529 was the only other full games to count at Cool Guys with Mac Galang on 119-155, Med Ramos 112-154 and Jimmy Aragones 133-141.
