TAIF, 13 April — Teachers play a vital role in shaping up a society and meeting the challenges of future. To keep them abreast of the changes and developments taking place in the education sector, the Education Committee of the Board of Governors of Pakistan International School, Taif, organized a conference here recently.
The conference, first of its kind since the inception of this institution some 30 years ago, was made successful by the efforts of Dr. Hussain Ahmad Paracha and Zahid Chaudhry and was overwhelmingly participated in by teachers.
Principal of the school Fayyaz Ahmad Chandio spoke about the teachers’ task and the challenges they are required to meet. Underlining the objectives of the seminar Dr. Hussain Ahmad Paracha, an educationist working with the Ministry of Education, said the conference was aimed at providing new teaching skills and latest information. Emphasizing the need for consistent research and study, Dr. Javaid Ahmad, chairman of the board of governors of the school, said innovative approach and latest techniques were pre-requisites for this profession. After a tea-break Muhammad Tufail Dhuddhaal spoke on “Modern Trends in Teaching Methodologies.”
He said teachers should be able to communicate with their pupils and should be equipped with knowledge.
After the lunch followed a discussion session jointly conducted by Muhammad Tufail Dhuddhaal and Shaukat Hussain.
Dr. Javaid, Khalid Qaazi, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Abdul Rauf and Khalid Aftab during the course of the discussion held out assurances that the governing board would spare no efforts to make this institution a center of excellence.
